Transport Development
The Transport Development Project is a community development project covering the areas of Leichhardt, Marrickville, Canada Bay, Ashfield, Strathfield, Burwood and Canterbury. The project is funded by the Ministry of Transport through the HACC program and is a joint project between Leichhardt Community Transport, Inner West Community Transport and Bankstown Community Transport.
The Transport Development Project is guided by a Steering Committee of local stakeholders who provide input and guide the direction of the project.
As a Community Development project the aim is to be responsive to the transport needs of people with disability, which includes developing information on available transport services, advocating for improved public and/or private transport, and removing barriers by exploring and developing opportunities for people with disabilities to access their community independently.
